Following the government directive for spatial efficiency in the workplace, Singapore Land Authority’s relocation in 2008 to 4½ levels of Revenue House in Newton, required a comprehensive internal reorganisation of their department.

Within 7200 sq m, Tan + Tsakonas undertook a strategic space planning study at the inception and developed an facilities framework optimising the Client’s business and operational requirements. The design development was driven by a need for enhanced communication and networking over the various levels, whilst maintaining corporate visibility and identity.

Given the limitation of area, the primary concern was the consolidation of existing facilities and inter-related functions, along with staff and inter-departmental integration. By integrating modular workstations with transparent office cubicles along with hot-desking and incidental gathering spaces, the design approach embraced flexible workplace solutions, allowing for an adaptable working environment.
